1 1/2 C. All purpose flour
1 C. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
4 tbs. unsweetened cocoa powder
1 C. cold water
1/3 C. vegetable oil
1 tbs. cider vinegar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Mix dry ingredients in one bowl and wet in another bowl and combine. Mix until completely mixed. Pour mixture in a 9x9 cake pan and bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cook on a wire rack completely before frosting.
